Capture Options Dialog

Use the Capture Options dialog to set special options for screen capture. You open the dialog by selecting Options is the Capture menu.

General Options

Delay

You may specify that screen capture is delayed 0 - 60 seconds. This is useful if you need to change something by means of the mouse before the capture event, for example, capture a window with an expanded menu.

By default there is no delay.

Occasionally, the system's event handling may initiate the capture event before EasyCopy's menu has been hidden; this conflict is also resolved by inducing a delay.

Beep

The beep option is enabled to issue a beep before and after screen capture. By default there is no beep.

Include Cursor

This feature can be selected on Microsoft Windows.
Enable this option to include the current cursor image (Cursor image, for example) in the captured image.

Fixed Region

You can enter width and height in pixels to specify the size of the rectangle you capture if you select
Fixed Region in the Capture menu.

X Capture Mode

X Capture Mode is only relevant for the UNIX versions of EasyCopy.

Capture Mode

Select the Capture Mode. The default is X Enhanced Mode. Refer to the topic
Capture Modes. You can also change the Capture Mode in the Capture menu.

Remote Display

Screen capture normally relates to the default screen of the local host (hostname:0.0).

You can specify that you want to capture another display by entering its network address in the Capture Options dialog. The network address is the hostname or IP address followed by the screen identifier. The default screen is 0.0, so normally you only need to supply hostname or IP address.

However, to capture a remote display certain conditions must be fulfilled:

  1. Your EasyCopy license must be available both for the source and the target.
  2. The remote display must accept the EasyCopy server as an xhost. Use the xhost command on the remote workstation, if necessary:
    $ xhost +server
Substitute server with the server's hostname or IP address.
