
Use the Label dialog to specify the contents and position of a label.
You open the dialog with the Label command in the Image menu

or by pressing
Label in one of these dialogs: the Print dialog, the
Image Conversion dialog, or the Send Image dialog.
Administrator lock
Administrator may enable this box in which case the dialog as well as label enabling/disabling becomes unavailable
for any other user. (If you are not Administrator this box is dimmed).
Text
You can specify one or more lines of text.
On Windows:
You can include environment variables, for example %USERNAME% as shown above. Also you might want to add information
about file name or file path, which you do by typing:
%ECFILENAME% or %ECFILEPATH%
Other variables are %OS% and %SYSDIR%
On UNIX:
You can include environment variables, for example $USERNAME as shown above. Also you might want to add information
about file name or file path, which you do by typing:
$ECFILENAME or $ECFILEPATH
To get the date, type `date` and you will get the default date format of the system.
If you prefer another date format type for instance:
`date +'%d-%m+%Y'`(remember to use back ping)
There is a long list of environment variables, among them are $OS and $SYSDIR
Besides the above examples you can get all commands, that can output text to a terminal window on a label.
Position
You can place the label at any of these six positions:
Vertical = Top or Bottom
Horizontal = Left, Center, or Right
Enable Label
This switch is enabled automatically each time you enter the dialog. This means that the Label feature by default is actived when you press OK.
You can also activate or deactivate the feature in the Print dialog, the Image Conversion dialog, or the Send Image dialog.
You can enable the label independently for print, save, and send. Refer to the Print dialog, the Image Conversion dialog, or the Send Image dialog, respectively.
