AGI Releases a new EasyCopy and an Integrated Montage Tool
SAN JOSE, Calif., November 28, 2002, AutoGraph International (AGI) today announced its new product release, EasyCopy 7.1. EasyCopy, the successful program suite of image communication tools for screen capture, conversion and printing, has more than 200.000 users worldwide and is the preferred solution for image printing, screen capture, and image conversion in many of the world's largest corporations.
UNIX, Windows, or both
Version 7.1 is released simultaneously for UNIX and Windows.
"The Windows version and the UNIX versions offer the same functionality. The Montage package is the same on both platforms. Our option for import of CGM and other graphics files is now available also for Windows. It is the same product on all platforms, and we do not distinguish between a Unix license and a Windows license", says Lisbeth G. Andersen, President and CEO of AGI. "Many of our customers have UNIX and Windows workstations in the same network. Now they can have EasyCopy available everywhere, and a license is not bound to one platform. With floating EasyCopy licenses the customer thus gets the ultimate freedom and flexibility."
From Annotation to Montage
The Annotation tool that was introduced in the previous release 7.0 has now been developed into a useful and user friendly Montage package that integrates seamlessly with the many other EasyCopy tools. This tool provides the easiest way to add text, graphics and more to a screen capture and it is fast and easy to create a montage of multiple images. The montage can be exported in any of the many image formats supported by EasyCopy, it can be printed, or sent as an e-mail attachment. The montage can also be saved in an SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) compliant format, and later restored. This feature can easily be utilized as a way to create a collection of standard templates that can be used as background or overlay on other montage pages.
EasyCopy Montage can use all the fonts installed on the system (all fonts installed for an X11 font server or all Windows fonts).
Images on the canvas can be cropped, and Montage also offers an easy area zoom.
Color Adjustment, Tint Balance, and Color Replacement
New in EasyCopy 7.1 is an easy tool for adjustment of the colors in an image: brightness, contrast and chrominance can be adjusted and also the tint balance can be changed. This can be utilized both when an input image should be modified, and also when nothing else can make a printer produce the right colors. The last case is rare as EasyCopy for years has been known for its excellent color calibration profiles that come with its printer drivers.
EasyCopy Montage offers an additional color editing facility, namely color replacement. One or more colors in an image can be replaced by arbitrary other colors. This is done fast and easily, and requires only a minimum of mouse clicks.
JPEG 2000 Support
EasyCopy 7.1 supports import and export in the new JPEG 2000 format based on wavelet compression technology.
Save Images as PDF
Another new feature is the support of PDF export. This makes it for example possible to use EasyCopy as a one-stop solution for archiving screen captures in PDF format.
