AGI Releases EasyCopy v. 8.0 with Universal Tools to Manage Graphics in a hybrid environment
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, August 31, 2005, AutoGraph International (AGI) announced today a new product release, EasyCopy 8.0.
Always designed to put a world of tools at your fingertips to manage pixel based and vector based graphics workflow more easily than ever
before.
EMF/WMF Files
Support for EMF/WMF import is the first milestone in AGI's strategy to create interoperability with all of the Microsoft
products and with the products supported on the Linux platform. The commitment to interoperability and cross-platform
support will grow as we add to our growing list of supported graphics formats. Today, EMF/WMF joins CGM, HP-GL, JPEG,
TIFF, PNG, GIF, etc. to give maximum flexibility to our users.
Capture
Major additions to the Capture tool include Automatic Capture, with its user-defined frequency and duration, as well as
Fixed Region capture. The Fixed Region area may be sized to the user's requirements. Whether it is for Automatic
Capture, Fixed Region Capture or general Capture, AutoSave with file save specifications is now available. Finally, two
new Hot Keys have been added, together with an option for the System Administrator to 'lock in' specific hot key
definitions.
Conversion
The conversion tools have new capabilities in v. 8.0. Profiles are introduced in this release. Specifications for
settings in saving files may be established for varying requirements. That is, a plotting Profile may be defined, a
presentation Profile, a project Profile and so forth to reduce effort and to maintain corporate guidelines.
In Montage, new functionality has been added to saving the layouts created. Added to saving a layout as an image or as
a .lay file, users may now save a layout as a .layz or SVG. With these additions, layouts and all associated graphics
may be sent to a colleague in another part of the world or simply saved as an archive for use later on.
Montage
EasyCopy may now be opened in Montage Canvas Mode vs. the Single Image Mode if preferred and specified. As a commitment
to ease of use and ergonomically appropriate design, the preference was established to meet the varying needs of our users.
Montage has also received some improvement is the Fill Options area. Pattern Fill now includes Lithology Patterns for
the geoscientist. Texture Fill is available to any user who works on posters, flyers or presentations. Finally, Hatch
Fill scaling has been improved.
Arbitrary rotation of text and images has now come to Montage as well. Asked for repeatedly by our users, it now joins
the other tools.
Available for all Major Platforms
EasyCopy 8.0 is available for Windows and all major UNIX workstations. The very flexible licensing scheme allows floating
licenses which can be shared throughout a network and among all users, while permitting a heterogeneous system environment
with both UNIX and Windows users.
