Capture Anything

Enhanced X and GL screen capture offers capture of the full screen, a selected window, a fixed or an arbitrary rectangular area. High-end display adapters are supported. The original colors of all windows are preserved with any combination of windows. Even when a window appears in false colors on the screen due to color table overrun, it is captured in its original colors by EasyCopy and is printed correctly.

Most common types of screen capture are easily configured in user defined hot keys. This feature, combined with an option for instant print, allows that EasyCopy is used as a hidden tool for high quality screen print.

Automatic detection and removal of background colors reduces media costs and improves the quality of printed drawings in CAD and similar applications.

Printer Support

EasyCopy supports direct printer connection by parallel, serial, SCSI (selected platforms), or internal TCP/IP interface, as well as connection over network interface boxes or connection to print servers or a print queue on a remote host (the latter requires a network license with multiple servers).

In addition to the rich selection of optimized drivers for popular printers EasyCopy includes generic drivers for PostScript, PCL, RTL, and CGM.

For PostScript printers EasyCopy converts a raster image into a PostScript or Encapsulated PostScript file. Compression is employed to provide efficient data transfer to the printer; an optimal compression method is adapted for each image taking the printer's capabilities into consideration. PostScript Level 2 and 3 printers are supported exploiting standard filters, including LZW or JPEG compression with a choice of 20 different grades of compression. AGI solutions for PostScript printers provide higher quality and more speed than any alternative.

Screen capture, print requests, and setup of printer and page layout options are most conveniently done by means of the Graphical User Interface. The full functionality is also available through a command line interface. This interface is suitable for streamlined system integration. A separate program does the image processing of EasyCopy, and.with a network license this process need not be bound to the local workstation, nor to the workstation to which the printer is directly connected. The network versatility of EasyCopy can be customized to solve literally any image printing need.

• EasyCGM is a licensable option for support of vector graphics. It adds functions to view, print and convert CGM and HP-GL. It includes the support of CGM_PIP, CGM 3 and seismic extensions.

Online help

Context sensitive help is provided in HTML format and can be viewed by means of Netscape (or other browsers). It is installed on your system together with EasyCopy, and the installation program will also configure the interface to the browser, so that you can display the help pages in a browser window from EasyCopy's dialogs.

You need Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view or print the manual. Acrobat Reader is included on the CD-ROM, and the installation program offers you to install it on your system. You can also download it from Adobe.

Distribution

EasyCopy is also distributed on CD-ROM (ISO-9660). It contains the product (together with several other products from AGI) for all supported platforms on a single disc.

Evaluation is free. Passwords to unlock a licensed version must be purchased separately.

Licenses

For network environments EasyCopy's license dispatcher is used to manage fixed or floating licenses for mulitiple users and computers.

Free Evaluation

An evaluation copy allows you to evaluate the software and determine how it works in your environment with your applications before you decide to purchase a license. An evaluation copy is a full functional version of the software, but it runs in demo mode: you will see a small text overlay "Demo" on all images you view, print, or save. You do not need a password to install an evaluation copy. Later, it can be upgraded to a licensed version by installing a password.
