Common Download Problems

• I get a (hopefully) false virus alert when I download EasyCopy for UNIX

EasyCopy Licensing

• Which TCP port number is used by EasyCopy License Dispatcher (ecdaemon):
  Port 56791
  
  
• What is a Primay Key?
  It is a proprietary key, which we use for password generation. You find it under Help, Password... in the Easycopy GUI or during installation under (4)Password Maintenance.
  
  
• Can I run fixed licenses with DHCP?
  No you need to have static IP addresses.
  
  
• Why is my license locked for 30 minutes?
  You have used an EasyCopy function from the command line, which locks the license. To avoid this use EasyCopy from the GUI and immediately upon closing the GUI the license will be released. Please see more details in echelp.
  
  

• What is the difference between Print Queue Processing and Direct Processing ?
  
  
• EasyCopy has no driver for my PostScript printer. Can I use another driver ?
  
  
• Why does printing with eclpd fail? Eeclpd communicates on a privileged port (525), and for doing that it must be running as root. If the filesystem where EasyCopy is installed does not allow programs to use "setuid" eclpd will fail with the following message:
  
  rresvport: Permission denied
  ------------------------------------------------------------------------
  Effective user-id of the eclpd process is 12345
  For connecting to the server printer port the user-id must be 0 (root)
  Please check that the /eclpd program is owned by root
  that it has permissions -r-sr-sr-x
  and that it's filesystem is not mounted with the nosuid option set

EasyCopy for Windows

I get a blank (all black) capture of Windows Media Player - How do I get the correct contents? After you open Window Media Player. Go to Tools | Options | Performance. Reduce the "Video acceleration" from the default Full to None, (You might need to press Restore Defaults first). Click ok. Now you should be able to capture the correct contents!
